Alike Release Notes v4.1
Alike v4.1 provides many new enhancements to improve performance, flexibility and reduce I/O overhead for data processing. It also serves as a rollup to the maintenance patches from v4.0, and includes many bug fixes.
You will find the most current build at the top of the release notes below, with the first release of this version at the bottom. Please contact us if you have any questions about updates or downloading the current version/build.

This build is intended to be a long-term stable release. The improvements and bug fixes in Build 6326 target offsite vaulting to make this feature more stable.
All users are encouraged to install (upgrade) to this release.

New Features
- Introduces per-job concurrent backup processing
- Significant improvements in Alike's ADS I/O efficiency
- Option to greatly improve initial backup processing with similar VMs
- Ability to individually include/exclude drives from backup and replication jobs
Improvements and Bug Fixes
- Improvements to job log details pages, grouping log entries by VM
- UI Settings no longer allow mutually exclusive options to be selected (e.g. Validation)
- Q-Hybrid backup of physical systems with GPT partitions that are not MB aligned can now be protected properly
- Q-Hybrid backup operations now use far fewer CIFS connections, and reuse them more efficiently
- Summary email statistics should no longer have occasional impossible numbers
- Intermittent Amazon S3 vaulting "500" errors addressed
- XenServer 5.5 API errors have been corrected
- Restores from encrypted Offsite Vaulted backups now function as intended
- Missing system/maintenance jobs will automatically be recreated by Alike
- Fixed issue with saving Offsite Maintenance job from UI
Known Issues
- Microsoft Edge browsers are not supported, but slip past the browser detection and are allowed.
- Configuring Offsite Vaulting the first time requires a service restart to take effect
- Full restores of encrypted backups from the Offsite Vault can fail to decrypt
- Keyword/dynamic selection is not yet available in Replication jobs
- Viewing job logs taken prior to this update may be a bit "messy"

Please note: This build contains a new ABD template image. Although this image should be automatically deployed to your SR(s) during the upgrade, please make sure you have the newest template (v9 5077) after the upgrade is complete. You can check in your Alike UI->Manage ABDs.
